Not Satisfied, Papuan Students Went to West Papuan Representative Office in Jakarta

Jakarta, MHN – Dozens of West Papuan students in Jakarta came to West Papuan Representative Office on Cidurian Street , Central Jakarta on Thursday, June 1, 2017.

The arrival of the students begin with their regrets because the office is often empty and the service of employees is less satisfactory.

Student Representative, Mesias Ayok, said that the Office should be able to assist Papuan students in Jakarta. In addition, mentally the employees are still lazy.

“West Papuan Representative Office should facilitates students of West Papua that far from home. But the fact is, they are ignorant, the existing employees are not working professionally. Many are skipping¬† and ¬†not even going to the office,” said Mesias through whatsapp, on June 1, 2017.

Meanwhile, the Papuan student coordinator, Fernando Nuham highlights the phenomenon of Civil Servants in the office which is actually enriching themselves.

“There are many civil servants who only enrich themselves,” he said.

On the occasion, the students demanded that the mechanism of payment and the distribution of aid should be through the welfare and will be refused if channeled through the post office.

In addition, to conduct distribution to all Papuan students in Jakarta, they requested that student organizations be utilized so that distribution is easier. (Maria Dauth/MHN)
